RAY SMUTS CHANCES ARE slim of the ‘Parking Full’ sign going up at Cape Town International Airport - winner of a goodly number of accolades for excellence in recent years - as the Airports Company of South Africa is intent on spending millions of rand to accommodate even more vehicles. Experiencing its best summer season to date, and with six million passengers in sight, Acsa wil spend around R100 million on a five storey parkade, construction of which is to get underway within the next few weeks. The additional facility will almost double current parking capacity and should prove sufficient to meet the need for the next five years. As construction is likely to last a year, visitors will have to park relatively far from terminals but Acsa plans to extend its shuttle service in order to move people from certain points to terminals.
