Conference explores regional integration of service sector

THE DTI and the International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva will host a ‘Bridges across borders’ conference spotlighting opportunities for regional integration of service delivery between African countries in November this year. The event, to be held in Centurion, will bring together 180 associations from 12 countries - Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Swaziland and Zambia – focusing in particular on the transportation and logistics sector which is seen to provide the greatest opportunity for regional co-operation and development. The conference will explore the key challenges that affect trade growth and will also look at the opportunities that regional integration present in the services economy. The first event in December last year attracted 165 service associations from nine SADC countries.
