HAVING ESTABLISHED itself as an information technology (IT) supplier to the freight industry, Compu-Clearing is keen to broaden its service base within this context.
With an understanding of the industry and its needs in mind, the company has developed solutions which are tailored not only to these needs but also to the budgets of its client base, according to chairman Arnold Garber.
The networking division offers desktop, LAN and WAN connectivity, and in the case of the latter the pricing is within reach of many of the smaller companies, says Garber.
Compu-Clearing is also heavily into the business of equipment rental, offering daily, monthly or annual contracts. Maintenance is included and it offers companies a hedge against changes in technology.
We are also an internet service provider and a number of our customers have good and permanent access to the internet via our server.
Adding a further dimension to its service range is Compu-Clearing's E-Media division which has been building web sites for the freight industry for some time. It has now diversified into Power Point presentations.
It's ideal for a freight agent who needs to create a presentation for a major contract, for example, says Garber.
Most don't have the skills to plan and develop this kind of presentation. We will put it on CD Rom, hire out the equipment and put the whole thing together. The only proviso is that it will be limited to the freight industry.
