Vale Moçambique coal trains from Mozambique’s Tete province to the port of Beira have started running on the Sena railway after several months’ shutdown due to two armed attacks.
Mozambican daily newspaper Noticias reported that this was made possible by port and railway company CFM taking over responsibility for its security.
Before the stoppage, the Sena railway had a daily average of 22 trains travelling along it in both directions, carrying Vale’s coal, cargo from CFM and passengers.
