Adding a monthly sailing
on Indian Ocean service

CONSOLIDATED MARINE Services' (CMS) commercial operations have been bolstered by the arrival in January of their new-build container ship Boltentor, which has just completed her maiden voyage to Durban.
The 5000 grt German-flagged vessel provides CMS with a monthly sailing to add to the sub-chartered MUR vessel and slot-charter arrangement with Ellerman-Bank already in operation on the Indian Ocean service.
The 516-TEU ship has 50 reefer plugs installed and is equipped with two 40-ton electric hydraulic cargo cranes.
According to CMS Gauteng representative Vanessa de Villiers this has enabled the CSM service to become one of the fastest in this sector. Where previously this was an NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) service, it has now become a liner service, she added. It also means that our bills of lading are now ocean bills.
Routing for the Boltentor and other vessels on the service is Mumbai, Colombo, Port Louis, Durban, Richards Bay (on inducement), Dubai, Dammam, Mumbai.
