INDUSTRY VETERAN Chris Cox has joined Fritz South Africa as commercial director effective this month. Cox has spent the past 18 years with Safcor Panalpina in various roles but more recently as executive director responsible for sales and marketing. Fritz recently became part of the United Parcel Services company (UPS) as the global trend of mergers and acquisitions within the industry continues unabated. UPS is the world's largest express carrier and package delivery company. Said Cox: " I'm particularly excited about joining Fritz at this stage in its history. Being part of the UPS organisation allows us to provide customers with comprehensive supply chain solutions." Cox believes that the consolidation in the industry is far from over and predicts that the next few years will see a handful of global players remaining. This trend is very much in line with other industries as the move towards globalisation gathers pace.
