IN WHAT has become a
regular event on the freight
industry’s social calendar,
UPS SCS South Africa held
its annual Spring Charity Ball
last week raising R75 000 for
the Ithembelihle Lsen School
in Primrose, Ekurhuleni.
Over the past two years
UPS has donated over
R130 000 to the school
which has used the funds to
improve bathrooms for its
approximately 140 physically
disabled children. Although
it is partially state-aided, it
relies heavily on additional
funds from the private and
corporate sector to meet
its operational needs and
building renovation.
