Transit assistance bureau “Transist” reported this morning that South Africa’s main crossing into Mozambique had reported a positive case of Covid-19 at the Lebombo Border Post’s customs office.
According to Transist the affected employee has been sent home and a decontamination team has been dispatched.
The team will be busy at the SA Revenue Service’s top office and main passenger building from 10am and operations are expected to resume at 2pm today.
A clearing agent who provided Transist with the news said: “During this time these buildings will not be functional.” However, cargo processing would not be affected, the source added.
