Bolloré Africa Logistics has unveiled its new brand, Africa Global Logistics (AGL), highlighting its plans to improve connectivity and build modern logistics infrastructure on the continent.

The multimodal logistics operator, owned by the MSC Group, announced its new trading name and brand in a statement on Wednesday, affirming its commitment to participate in the transformation of the continent, by improving connectivity and contributing to the establishment of logistics ecosystems. The firm, which has operated on the continent for more than a century, provides customised logistics solutions across ports, logistics, maritime and rail.

AGL said in the statement that it would “improve the productivity of the terminals it operates to better serve all of its customers”.

“AGL will develop multimodal logistics solutions - rail, road, air, river - to meet the expectations of its customers and meet the challenges of logistics,” the company said.

It has more than 250 logistics and maritime agencies, 22 port and rail concessions, 66 dry ports, and two river terminals, through which it designs solutions along the value chain, including in less accessible areas. The company said it would accelerate its investments to develop capacity and respond to the challenges of intra-African trade, the energy transition, demographic growth, the improvement of the living environment, and digitalisation.

CEO Phillippe Labonne said the rebranding underlined the firm’s ambition for growth on the continent.

"We are pleased to begin this adventure within the MSC Group. This new brand reinforces our ambition to be a trusted logistics partner for our customers in Africa and around the world, while underlining our commitment to innovate and participate alongside Africa's states and partners in the transformation of the continent,” Labonne said.
