Bolloeré plans regional airfreight hub

Bolloré Africa Logistics (SDV and SAEL) has a very positive outlook for 2013 due to several new developments within the company. This includes a new air route into Tete, Mozambique, the introduction of a regional hub and expansion of its portfolio. Jason Scully, regional commercial and marketing manager for Bolloré South African region, says this additional Mozambique flight comes hot on the heels of the weekly freighter service to Pemba, which brought positive growth for the company in 2012. “Our growth last year, despite a downturn in general global air freight volumes, has enabled us to improve our air freight portfolio and take advantage of several new opportunities offered by ongoing developments in Africa,” said Scully. South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique are identified as key growth regions. The group plans to open a regional airfreight hub in Johannesburg in the second quarter of this year to serve sub-Saharan Africa and will provide an air-air and air-road option to the market. Bolloré has also added to its portfolio with the development of ground handling and GSA agreements in certain countries. INSERT 'Positive growth from weekly freighter service to Pemba.'
