Biggest eucalyptus nursery in Africa gets under way

A Portuguese company intends to set up the biggest eucalyptus nursery in Africa, with an initial capacity of 12 million plants a year, possibly doubling by 2016.

The project is based on a 356 000 hectare site in Manica and Zambézia in Mozambique.

It should form a good export product. According to the booklet, Modern Essentials, the properties of eucalyptus essential oil include being: analgesic, antibacterial, anticatarrhal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, insecticidal, and expectorant.

Oh yes, and it’s a refreshing bath-oil.
