BRITISH AIRWAYS World Cargo has introduced a scheduled call at Lusaka every Tuesday on its Johannesburg - London 747-400 freighter service. This will replace its ad hoc flights into the Zambian capital.
The scheduled service started last Tuesday (April 6), motivated by growing demand from perishable and general cargo shippers for a northbound Lusaka call. It replaces the Nairobi stop on Tuesdays. Nairobi will no longer be served directly from Johannesburg on the freighter service in future.
The southbound Tuesday flight comes in from Stansted (UK) and Cologne to Johannesburg, and then flies northwards to Lusaka, Vitoria (Spain) and Stansted.
No changes have been made to the Friday service.
