Automotive component suppliers are gearing for growth, and are positive about the future, according to South African Automotive Week organiser Andrew Binning of Inkanyezi Event Organisers. “We have visited over 50 automotive component companies to discuss next year’s South African Automotive Week (SAAW), and the majority are remarkably upbeat about prospects for the industry in the future, despite the current downturn. “A number have already signed up,” he adds. The South African Automotive Week (SAAW) was held in Port Elizabeth in October 2007, with the second being scheduled for November 2009.
