Angola South goes fortnightly

Joy Orlek ANGOLA SOUTH Line will add a second vessel to its monthly, dedicated multi-purpose service between Angola and South Africa, upgrading to a fortnightly frequency. The service, which currently calls Cape Town, Luanda, Malongo and Cabinda, with other ports on inducement, will now add Durban to its port rotation, a move specifically designed for Johannesburg shippers. The Bristol Strait, to be renamed Angola Express, is expected to sail from Durban on June 28. Vessels deployed on the route are specifically adapted to handle and transport capital equipment, machinery, oilwell consumables and the like. Agents are Meihuizen International (Cape Town); Seascape (Johannesburg) and Mainport (Durban). “ASL has aligned its service mainly with oilwell and construction businesses, providing a competitive service to this important new market,” Meihuizen’s Mark Kilbride told FTW.
