THE ANGOLAN customs authorities have agreed to a 20% rebate on total dues applicable on any commodity imported into the country on any Angolan flag vessels or aircraft.
This new development will boost the volume of traffic from South Africa to Angola, says Meihuizen Freight's Neil Robertson, whose company is the
general agent for Angola/ South Line.
All vessels owned, chartered and operated by Maritima de Services on the regular Angola/South Line service from South Africa to Angolan ports are considered Angolan flag vessels, thus qualifying all importers of cargo on these vessels to apply for the rebate, he said.
