BANK NOTES become worthless in the event of an attempted robbery when using the new electronic cash-in-transit box which Aluvin Securiseal unveiled at the recent Securex '98 exhibition in Johannesburg.
This sophisticated new equipment was one of the major attractions at the exhibition and is part of what Aluvin m.d. Kevin Norwitz says is the result of the close working relationship which his company has built up with several international leaders in the security packaging field.
Besides the traditional indicative and barrier seals that are used in transportation, storage and cash-in-transit applications, we have new developments in plastic and metal cable seals, he says.
These are very cost effective and provide immediate evidence wherever tampering has taken place.
A mechanical cable seal fitted onto trucks or containers automatically generates its own random serial number. The doors cannot be opened without disengaging the cable and thereby changing the number.
Another application is a bolt and locking chamber type seal that can only be disengaged using a special tool, but can be used again.
A new range of tamper evident security labels change colour and display a STOP message when tampered with, and are available in different sizes and can be custom printed with serial numbers.
