Airfreight takes off

Africans are turning increasingly to air travel, as road and rail infrastructure remains underdeveloped, according to a report by Boeing. In response, African airlines are acquiring new wide body airliners at a greater rate than the global airline average. Some 32% of African airline demand in 2010 was for wide bodies, as against 23% for the global industry, Boeing said at a Johannesburg briefing on its 20-year forecast recently.
