A PIECE OF metal which projects from a hillside behind East London's new car terminal in the harbour is hindering development - but it cannot be moved!
Developers want it taken away from its present site to accommodate new buildings but we can't allow that to happen, says Luzuko Dibi, Airports Company of South Africa manager in the city.
The object of discussions and negotiations right now is known as an outer marker which is connected to air control traffic operations at the airport and plays an integral role in bringing in arriving aircraft, especially in inclement weather.
