Air carrier hit by cabin crew strike

Lufthansa said it would cancel 929 today’s (Monday’s) 3 000 scheduled flights but that about 70% of its normal services would operate as a cabin crew strike continues.

The strike started on Friday, with Lufthansa having to cancel hundreds, this time in a battle with the cabin crew union, UFO, over failed pension talks.

“Lufthansa has today reaffirmed that it is ready to resume talks,” UFO flight attendants’ union said in a statement on Sunday.

The national carrier is expected to issue a statement later today.
