THE GLOBAL airfreight industry registered 5.2% growth (measured in freight-tonne-kilometres) in the first quarter, according to the latest figures from the International Air Transport Association (Iata). On a regional basis, Africa grew by 2.8%; Asia/Pacific by 5.7%; Europe by 2.2%; Latin America by 9.9%; Middle East by 16.6%; and US by 4.4%.
