FOLLOWING THEIR accreditation by the SA Bureau of Standards (SABS) on May 23, Aviation GSA, Spotco and Air Care Cargo (ACC) have become the final three Equity Aviation subsidiaries to achieve the ISO 9001:2000 standard. The awards to the three companies were presented to their chief operating officers by Desmond Govender, the SABS certification manager and Sydney Niemand, the SABS senior auditor. According to COO Balan Moodley, ACC is a consolidating, domestic air freight company that is also involved in the handling of export cargo, while Spotco has been providing logistical support to the concert, television and theatre industries, and has specialised in SA’s air and sea freight forwarding industries since 1994. Aviation GSA, meanwhile, operates as a cargo general sales and service agent and has expanded its operations into Tanzania and Namibia. “After undergoing an intense and stringent audit, it is certainly satisfying to know that Aviation GSA is the only GSA in SA to have achieved ISOaccreditation,” said COO, Herman Fleischmann.
