Accountability drives new SAA management structure

JOY ORLEK SOUTH AFRICAN Airways (SAA) president and CEO, Khaya Ngqula, has unveiled a new management structure designed to return the national carrier to profitability. This will see the cargo division reporting to a soon to be appointed chief operating officer (COO) who will concentrate on operational efficiencies “The new structure strengthens our management team’s accountability,” said Ngqula, “something which has been lacking in the past.” The realignment will remove duplications and improve the focus on the core function of the airline’s business, which is customer-focused operations, he said. It will ensure hands-on management of all hubs and operations around the world.
