Organisers of the 7th Infrastructure Africa conference have confirmed that a host of executives and policymakers will attend the event set down for October 9-10 at Sandton Convention Centre.

Kenyan High Commissioner Amb Jean Kamau, Brics Institute director Sherrie Donaldson, Tutwa Consulting director Catherine Grant, National Planning Commission commissioner Dr Miriam Altman, Nepad Business Foundation project manager John Rocha, Norton Rose Fulbright SA director Ian Petherbridge, and PIC senior research analyst Brenton Lalu are among the speaker line-up.

The list of 30-plus speakers are all involved with “unlocking Africa’s infrastructure opportunities and shaping the next two decades of Africa’s economic horizons”, according to the organisers.

Managing director of the Infrastructure Africa Business Forum, Liz Hart, said that the conference would also host country project roundtables that would include pitches by Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Sierra Leone, and a large PIDA (programme for infrastructure development in Africa) project – the Batoka Gorge hydroelectric energy project.

Overall the conference “will provide interested infrastructure stakeholders with a focused ‘deal room’ to engage and to facilitate infrastructure development deal flow,” Hart said.
