On 03 June the World Trade Organisation (WTO) announced that the deadline for submitting proposals for this year’s Public Forum - entitled “Trading Forward: Adapting to a Changing World” - had been extended to 14 June. Individuals interested in organising sessions at the Forum, to be held from 08 to 11 October, are invited to complete an online application form.
The Forum will take place at the WTO's headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland under the theme “Trading Forward: Adapting to a Changing World”. The Forum's sub-themes are “Services - the next trade frontier”, “The Next Generation - what do Millennials & Gen Z want to see from the global trading system” and “The Next Chapter of the WTO - strengthening the trading system”.
The Public Forum is the WTO's largest annual outreach event. It provides a unique platform for policy makers, leading global businesspeople, students, academics and non-governmental organisations to come together and debate on a wide range of WTO issues and on some of the major trade and development topics of the day. Over 1 500 participants attend the Forum each year.
