After a record-breaking 2020 when Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) broke all records, posting its highest-ever revenue, the line’s first quarter revenue has increased dramatically.
Q1 results ending March 31 saw total volumes up 23.8% from the same period last year while total revenues increased by 96.0% to US$ 3 018.4 million. Loadable capacity increased by 15.0%.
According to a statement, the overall load factor was 6.2% higher than the same period in 2020. Overall average revenue per TEU increased by 58.3% compared to the first quarter of last year.
