Join a long-standing clearing and forwarding agent onsite for a large client of theirs, based in Stanger, working monthly rotating shifts.
My client requires a Multimodal Controller to manage airfreight and seafreight shipments across both imports and exports. The role is predominantly focused on airfreight imports, with approximately 30-40 files processed weekly across two Controllers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring shipments are efficiently managed from receipt through to final delivery, while maintaining accurate documentation, communication and coordination with clients, suppliers and relevant stakeholders.
Duties:
- Prepare accurate freight estimates and quotations for air and seafreight.
- Convert quotations into confirmed bookings through proactive customer engagement.
- Coordinate shipments from origin to final delivery.
- Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, transporters, and clients.
- Monitor shipment milestones and provide timely status updates.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Resolve operational issues promptly and professionally.
- Meet customer service expectations and internal KPIs.
- Ensure all files are processed according to company procedures and deadlines.
Requirements:
- Matric or NQF qualification.
- Minimum 5-10 years experience handling air and seafreight, imports and exports, within clearing and forwarding.
- CargoWise experience advantageous.
- Able to work shift work, rotating on a monthly schedule.
- Understanding of freight estimates.
