Operations Controller

Our client, a well-established player within the freight forwarding and logistics sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Controller to join their Control Tower team in Johannesburg.

This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in freight forwarding who thrives in a fast-paced, administrative and coordination-driven environment. 

Responsibilities:

• Accept and process customer sales orders.
• Generate and manage container utilisation, including amendments.
• Consolidate final market orders on Sage.
• Prepare and generate PFIs.
• Conduct quality checks on samples upon receipt.
• Perform bin transfers.
• Compile and coordinate full shipping documentation packs.
• Track shipping documents through to final delivery.
• Generate export requests and facilitate container dispatch and stacking at port.

Requirements: 

• Matric / Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
• High level of computer literacy.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Freight Forwarding.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and numeracy skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational ability.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ocean Freight Imports and Exports knowledge.
• QC client cargo in warehouse - Advantageous.
