Senior Export Controller

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Airfreight Export Controller to join a well-established logistics company.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong export knowledge and the ability to manage airfreight shipments efficiently from start to finish.

 Requirements: 

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years in Freight Forwarding and Clearing air exports experience (not Courier).
• IATA DGR Certification.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Excellent administration skills and strong attention to detail.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate airfreight export consignments according to shipper instructions.
• Prepare and verify customs and airline documentation accurately and on time.
• Manage cargo bookings, shipment records, and CargoWise data entry.
• Communicate with clients and overseas agents regarding shipment progress or issues.
• Ensure pre-alerts, uplift confirmations and PODs are obtained and dispatched promptly.
• Handle dangerous goods, short shipments, damages, and losses as required.
• Support invoice preparation and maintain accurate shipment documentation.
• Provide general administrative support and apply knowledge of duty drawbacks.
