WCO/WTO Advanced Trade Facilitation Course

The World Customs Organisation (WCO) on 06 April announced that the Spanish version of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Advanced Course for Chairs of National Committees on Trade Facilitation (NCTFs) had been held from 20 to 29 March at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to the WCO, it co-facilitated successfully the delivery of this course with several major international organisations.

The latest course was the first one to be organised since the entry into force of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) on 22 February, and served to further strengthen the cooperation between the agencies involved, demonstrating that a coordinated approach to support Members with their efforts to implement the WTO TFA is the best way forward.

With approximately 36 technical provisions to be implemented, some of which require the coordination of many agencies, the establishment of a National Committee on Trade Facilitation (NCTF) is one of the fundamental steps needed to build national consensus and to procure the overall benefits of the Agreement.
