On 01 October the World Customs Organisation (WCO) published the Agenda for the upcoming WCO PICARD Conference which will take place in Skopje, North Macedonia, from 22 to 24 October 2019.
Featured on the Agenda of the 14th edition of the Conference are high-level speakers from a broad spectrum of academic, governmental and private sector entities and think-tanks, including the World Bank Group, European Commission, international law firms and several universities from Belgium; Bulgaria; Burundi; Colombia; Italy; Korea; the Netherlands; North Macedonia; the Philippines; Poland; Russian Federation; Switzerland and Uzbekistan.
The PICARD Scientific Board spent June and July reviewing the over 100 submissions and presentations will be provided from Customs officers from a wide variety of countries, many of which are represented for the first time on the PICARD Agenda. Representatives from Burkina Faso; Indonesia; Jamaica; Nigeria; North Macedonia; South Africa; Sri Lanka; Thailand; Tunisia and Turkey will present their ongoing research on topics such as E-Commerce, trade facilitation and the application of data analysis to Customs processes.
