CAPE Town-based Macro 2000 has completed an installation for a logistics company moving beverages from South Africa into other African countries.
Marketing executive Anthea van Breemen says the system provides a full warehouse control system where goods are received into a location in the warehouse and all details such as product code and description, production and expiry date are recorded. Upon receipt of goods a goods receipt voucher is automatically generated and can be emailed to the customer.
She says when an order has to be fulfilled the correct stock, by expiry date, is located using the warehouse map, enquiries or pick slip generation.
A goods issue voucher is produced per container with the relevant shipping and voyage details recorded, along with customs inspection information and other specific export data.
“The Macro voyage manifest is automatically updated with the information from the goods issue vouchers and a voyage packing list produced and emailed via the Macro 2000 software to all relevant parties.”
Van Breemen says a daily stock report showing opening balances and all movements is automatically emailed to the customer and owner of the goods and a weekly report showing the chargeable movements is also produced with a monthly report for generating invoices.
