THERE ARE vacancies on the UK market for well-qualified and experienced freight forwarding and logistics personnel at all levels, said Diane Cleaver, chairman of UK personnel agency Forward Prospects.
She was in South Africa recently on a visit to SA partner agency, Lee Botti & Associates - with both companies specialising in the placement of logistics and travel personnel, and providing integrated recruitment services to those seeking employment in the UK.
There are certain points that need to be borne in mind by aspirant candidates for overseas jobs, Cleaver told FTW.
The applicant’s background needs to match both client requirement and location -and the necessary entry visa/passport documentation must be provided.
“The UK client would usually need assurance that the candidate intended to remain in the UK for a minimum of two years,” said Cleaver.
Candidates should take appropriate advice in SA when establishing their own position, according to Lee Botti & Associates MD, Lee Botti.
“Interested candidates should register with us,” she said. “We in turn will liaise with Forward Prospects who would then deal with the candidate prior to their arrival in the UK.”
The UK company is registered with the Office of Immigration Services Commission (OISC) – authorising it to give full immigration advice.
