The Ugandan Government has issued a protest note to the Kenyan High Commissioner in Kampala, expressing concern over the illegal seizure of Ugandan-made milk and milk products under the Lato brand.
Since December last year, the police, the Kenya Bureau of Standards and the Kenya Revenue Authority have confiscated the milk products, saying they were substandard.
The Kenyan government also claimed that the products had been smuggled into the country without paying taxes.
However, Lato Milk has slammed the smuggling allegations.
