United Africa Feeder Line (UAFL) has appointed Simba Africa Maritime (PTY) Ltd (‘SAM’) to act as its agents from August 1 this year.

This follows the announcement that UAFL’s agency agreement in South Africa with Seaclad Maritime (PTY) Ltd will come to an end, with effect from July 31.

SAM is part of the Deutsche Afrika-Linien (DAL)/UAFL group, and this appointment will enable the creation of better synergies within the group of companies.

“In the interests of a smooth transition, the hand-over of the agency will commence with effect from  July 18, so that all systems in SAM are up and running by the date of the formal hand over on  August 1,” said a statement issued today by UAFL management.

Furthermore, two key staff members from Seaclad Maritime –Devin Schoeman and  Connie Pillay –  will be joining SAM to “ensure continuity and uninterrupted service” to all UAFL shippers and clients, said UAFL.
