26 Aug 2014

On 20 August 2014 the Department of Transport announced its intention to appoint persons to serve on the Board of the Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA). RTIA was established in terms of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) Act 46 of 1998. The AARTO Act further makes provision for the appointment of persons to the Board of RTIA to represent and control the Agency.

Through the Government Gazette the Minister of Transport announced his intention to appoint the following persons as Non-Executive Members to the Board of RTIA. He invited comment on the suitability of the listed persons: (1) Ms Nomini Rapoo Legal and governance; (2) Ms Nomusa Zethu Qunta Public Finance, Economics & Governance; (3) Prof. Tebogo Job Mokgoro Strategy & Governance; (4) Mr Bryan Shuan Chap log Chartered Accountant; and (5) Mr Benedict Matinise Strategy.
