The World Trade Organisation (WTO) has announced that it has extended the deadline for submitting proposals for this year’s Public Forum - entitled “Trade 2030” - to 15 June. The WTO invited anyone interested in organising sessions at the forum, to be held on 2-4 October, to complete an application form.
The forum, which will take place at the WTO's headquarters in Switzerland, will focus on how technology is changing the way we trade and will assess how trade can continue to contribute to job creation, growth and sustainable development, particularly in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals under the 2030 Agenda.
The Public Forum is the WTO's largest annual outreach event. It provides a unique platform for policy makers, leading global business people, students, academics and non-governmental organisations to come together and debate on a wide range of WTO issues and on some of the major trade and development topics of the day. Over 1,500 participants attend the forum each year.
