Service providers should strive to make their logistics services invisible, says Patrick Kohlstaedt, general manager of Manica Logistics. You know you are in trouble when the logistics chain becomes visible – because it means that something is going wrong, and goods or people are not reaching their destinations on time. If the supply chain flows as planned, nobody notices the logistics service provider, says Kohlstaedt. “Our objective is to ensure that nothing is lost or broken along the logistics value chain,” he adds. “Everything must be delivered on time.” Manica Logistics was established to co-ordinate the activities across the group, and now operates round the clock to service the oil and gas exploration activities currently commissioned in Namibia. The division provides the full scope of project logistics and supply chain management services due. CAPTION Patrick Kohlstaedt ... big focus on oil and gas industry.
