On 30 July 2013 the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) informed of the expiry of the United States of America (USA) Generalised System of Preferences (GSP), popularly known as the African Growth and Opportunity Act (Agoa), on 31 July 2013. The notice further informed that Agoa would extend the benefits under the GSP programme to 30 September 2015.
