Slew of service adjustments rings in New Year

French line CMA CGM has announced a series of service adjustments and new deployments across several trade lanes as part of its ongoing network optimisation strategy.

The first major development from the line for 2026 is said to be aimed at refining port coverage in key regions, including the Americas, Europe, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

As part of the changes, the carrier has updated its Mexico Express and West Coast South America offering.

Closer detail reveals that the Marseille-run carrier’s M2X service has been revised to include a call at Ensenada, while calls at Buenaventura and Posorja have been redistributed to other services.

The ACSA1 service has also been realigned to ensure continued coverage along the west coast of South America.

In northern Europe, CMA CGM has amended its Sweden Express service, with the SXW2 rotation replacing Rauma with Halmstad on its weekly European loop.

The carrier has also introduced new intra-regional links in the Mediterranean, India Sea Trade News reports.

A new Palmyra Shuttle has been launched in the eastern Mediterranean, providing weekly direct connections between Egypt, Lebanon and Syria.

In addition, the GTL service in the same region has been expanded to include an extra call at Iskenderun.

In the Caribbean, CMA CGM has strengthened its network with the introduction of the Motagua Express, linking Kingston with Central America and the French Caribbean.

The group has also added an intra-Caribbean Guyanas service, aimed at improving connectivity between the eastern Caribbean and the Guyanas.

CMA CGM said the combined adjustments were intended to better align vessel deployment and port coverage with evolving trade flows and customer demand, while improving schedule reliability and overall network efficiency.

Shippers and other stakeholders are advised to consult their local CMA CGM representatives for detailed schedule information and the operational implications of the revised services.
