Satawu boss gets international post

IN A first for the African continent, Randall Howard, the outspoken general-secretary of the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (Satawu), was elected new president of the 4.5-million member International Transport Federation (ITF) at its annual conference in Durban recently. Howard takes over the reins of the 110-year old federation of international transport unions from Umraomal Purohit of India.
