South African Airways' (SAA) flight schedule is expected to be back to 100% from today (Monday) following a pilot strike at the national carrier.
Flights were disrupted last week when an estimated 100 pilots embarked on industrial action – demanding a higher salary increase.
However, according to SAA, negotiations have now reached a resolution after the parties agreed on a total salary increase of 9.47%.
“As part of the agreement that broke the deadlock in wage negotiations, engagements on a continuous enterprise improvement programme will continue over the next eight weeks,” interim SAA chief executive, John Lamola, said.
“We are committed to implementing work-life concessions that should enhance the productivity of our world-acclaimed pilots.” – SAnews.gov.za
