SA growth falls short of global expectation

WORLD GROWTH is expected to average 4.9% this year and 4.7% in 2007 from 4.8% in 2005, according to the IMF World Economic Outlook. African growth, largely driven by high commodity prices, is expected to average 5.7% this year and 5.5% in 2007 from 5.2% in 2005. In SA growth is forecast at 4.3% this year and 4.1% in 2007 from 4.9% in 2005.
