Road freight sector to gather as operating pressures mount

South Africa’s road freight industry will gather in KwaZulu-Natal next week for the Road Freight Association’s (RFA) Convention 2026, with the programme expected to focus on the operational, regulatory and commercial pressures facing transport operators.

The convention, taking place from May 29-31 at The Capital Zimbali, will bring together road freight companies, suppliers and stakeholders under the theme ‘Shifting Gears’.

The event will give delegates access to industry insight, networking opportunities and discussions on the future direction of the sector.

For operators, the convention comes against the backdrop of a changing transport environment, with companies having to manage compliance requirements, labour issues, rising costs and pressure to adopt smarter and more sustainable operating models.

The programme will also create space for engagement between industry players and decision-makers on issues affecting the efficiency and competitiveness of the road freight sector.

The convention will include formal sessions, networking events and industry showcases.
