Customs

Reminder: Report a customs crime

Earlier last month, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) advised that it was providing a platform for our stakeholders and the public at large to report any unethical behaviour, corruption, or suspicious activity in customs. According to the Customs Integrity Perception Survey, respondents reported that no action had been taken on the reported cases. Therefore, cases reported here will be monitored to ensure that not only will action be taken, but feedback will also be provided to the individuals who reported them.

According to these reports, they can relate to any stage in the customs value chain.

Three days after receiving the complaint/report, Customs & Excise will contact the reporter and provide feedback – CustomsIntegrity@sars.gov.za.
