IT LOOKS very likely that Spoornet may soon be signing up sectoral agreements with each of the members of the Container Rail Operators Forum (Crof).
“These could include responsibility for service levels from both parties,” Peter Lewin, director of MSC Logistics and Crof chairman, told FTW.
This followed a meeting with the then still acting chief executive of Spoornet, Siyabonga Gama – a meeting which Lewin described as “based on good business sense” and “very productive”.
Spoornet, he added, responded “very responsibly” to the concerns put on the table by Crof.
“This continues,” said Lewin, “to show the intention at Spoornet to move forward."
