This week sees the official launch by the OneLogix group of its recently completed R130-million OneLogix Logistics Hub in the Cato Ridge area of KZN.
Several of the existing group facilities within the immediate KZN region have been integrated into this state-of-the art 14-hectare (140 000 sqm) site.
“Furthermore there is abundant space for future expansion, an avenue that the group has already activated. We are actively investigating a further 10ha or (100 000 sqm) extension,” said CEO Ian Lourens.
The hub is located well outside of the coastal rust belt areas and is therefore not compromised in terms of the quality of vehicle storage on offer, he added. It has the ability to store 5 000 motor vehicles and trucks for onward distribution across the country, and will also include a workshop, driver accommodation, driver training facilities and a pre-inspection facility for OEMs.
“The provision for a fully functional rail siding has been incorporated into the site layout and design and we plan to investigate a mutually beneficial Public Private Partnership with Transnet,” said Lourens.
