R103.4 m invested in Midrand roads and bridge

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has invested R103.4 million in the upgrade of roads and a pedestrian bridge in Midrand, Gauteng.

R89.5 million will be geared towards the upgrade of gravel roads in Mayibuye and Kaalfontein, while R13.9 million has been prioritised for the upgrade of the Kaalfontein pedestrian bridge.

“These roads will ensure access to services and improved mobility,” said MMC for Transport, councillor Nonhlanhla Makhuba.

The roads upgrade project includes the implementation of stormwater drainage systems and is currently under way.
