Joy Orlek THE PRIVATE sector has taken a decisive step forward in its logistics co-ordination drive on the Maputo Development Corridor with the planned registration of a Section 21 company to lead the advance. The Maputo Development Corridor Logistics Initiative, funded primarily by key founder members, will co-ordinate the views of service providers and users of the Corridor to make it the first choice for the region’s importers and exporters. It will also perform a marketing role, providing information on the strategic benefits and opportunities of the Corridor. Part of this will be a bus tour in February next year for all interested stakeholders from Gauteng who will travel to the Port of Maputo to experience at first hand the corridor logistics and the opportunities it has to offer. The tour will culminate in the official launch function of the MCLI at the Polana Hotel. If you would like to find out more, email Brenda.Horne@bhpbilliton.com
