Ports policy gets cabinet nod

THE NATIONAL Commercial Ports Policy has been passed by cabinet, and is due to be gazetted on July 25, according to information released to Sacob by a senior source at the Department of Transport. So confident is the department that the minister plans to have an official launch of the NCPP on the same date, the source added. This follows assurances made earlier this year to FTW by a departmental spokesman, who said that they were "fast-tracking" the policy to its legislative form.
