Print in your own office through the line's website

YOU CAN now print P&O Nedlloyd bills of lading (BoLs) directly in your own office through the line's web-site.
This remote BoL follows the success of their roll-out in Europe and is added to the company's other e-commerce features such as track-and-trace, on-line bookings, shipping schedules and shipping instructions.
According to customer services director, Willem van der Worp, the whole process is remote, improving the efficiency of the transaction process.
"BoLs can be checked and approved electronically," he said. "There are no courier costs involved and documents flow faster. All on-line documentation is secure and protected by the latest encryption technology."
To qualify for remote bill printing, customers have to go through the PONL website (www.ponl.com ) to register their details.
"Our electronic commerce management unit processes the registration, and approval is given within 48-hours," said Van der Worp. "Once approved, the local office provides the customer with two files to download and P&O Nedlloyd bill stationery - and offers advice and assistance.
"All the customer needs is a printer and Adobe Acrobat."
The company also plans to introduce remote BoL printing in Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and Namibia.
